New Position: Assistant Professor of Business, Organizations and Society at NYU Abu Dhabi

The Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, located in Indianapolis, invites nominations and applications for a visionary scholar to serve as a faculty member in the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy and holder of the Eileen Lamb O’Gara Endowed Chair in Women’s Philanthropy. This is a ten-month advanced associate or full professor tenured position. The search begins in October 2021 and applications submitted by December 1, 2021, will receive best consideration. The position will remain open until filled. 

The chair holder is expected to provide national/international leadership in the study of gender and philanthropic giving, broadly defined. The successful candidate will be a recognized or emerging scholar in research on gender and philanthropy. The candidates’ background may come from Philanthropic Studies, Sociology, Economics, Psychology, Women’s Studies, History, or other appropriate disciplinary areas. Successful candidates must also demonstrate evidence of high-quality teaching.

Recognizing this is an emerging interdisciplinary topic, all candidates will be considered who show interest and promise of excellence in helping to advance the understanding and practice of this field. A candidate who meets the requirements for an Indiana University titled professorship will have the title of Professor of Philanthropic Studies and the Eileen Lamb O’Gara Chair in Women’s Philanthropy. Such candidates must have advanced rank and will have a substantive research portfolio. Candidates who demonstrate a growing national or international reputation in women’s philanthropy but not yet at that level of full professor will have the title of Associate Professor of Philanthropic Studies and Eileen Lamb O’Gara Fellow in Women’s Philanthropy.

As a faculty member, The Eileen Lamb O’Gara Chair holder will provide intellectual leadership to the school and the field through active research and teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels.  Regardless of the rank, the faculty of the school will look for an excellent scholar who will thrive in our collegial community, engage in building the field of philanthropic studies, and demonstrate an interest in engaging current and future practitioners.

Qualifications
This position requires a Ph.D. in Management, Sociology, Psychology, Social Psychology, Economics, or a related field, and a specialization in management, organizations or a related area. 

We seek individuals who have a strong record of teaching, mentoring, and scholarship, and have the ability to develop and lead high-quality teaching and research with special attention to business, organizations, and society.
