The Faculty VI Institute of Sociology and the Department of Organizational, Work and Economic Sociology at the Technical University of Berlin is seeking applications for the position of Research Associate (PostDoc; 2nd qualification period/Habilitation) with the salary grade of E13 TV-L (Berliner Hochschulen).
The department focuses on empirical research on topics of organizational, work and economic sociology with a special focus on social inequality. It offers introductory and in-depth courses in the B.A. and M.A. Sociology degree programs. Teaching at the department is characterized by close integration with ongoing research projects and a decidedly practical orientation.
Your tasks:
Development and implementation of an independent research project in the subject area.
They offer courses in the compulsory and elective areas of the BA and MA degree programs in sociology with a technical science focus
Independently conducting consultation hours to provide academic support to students in face-to-face and online formats, as well as supervising final theses
Cooperation with the various research projects at the department and within the Institute of Sociology
Expected qualifications
Successfully completed academic university degree (Master, Diploma or equivalent) and doctorate in sociology or social sciences
Experience in empirical social research and proven skills in qualitative methods and/or computational methods
The ability to teach in German and/or English is required, as is the willingness to acquire any language skills that are lacking.
Confident use of MS Office
Desirable:
Strong interest in wealth inequality within organizational, labor, and/or economic sociology
Interest in research- and practice-oriented teaching
Independent and committed way of working
Experience in preparing scientific publications
Experience in writing third-party funding applications
