The Sociology Program at Bard College invites applications for a full time, tenure-track Assistant Professor to begin in Fall 2026. Successful candidates will use quantitative or computational methods in their research, and preference will be given to applicants who have research/teaching interests in one or more of the following areas: the sociology of health and medicine; science, technology, and media; economic sociology; and work, labor, and organizations. Candidates must possess a commitment to research and to teaching effectiveness. Responsibilities include teaching courses in the candidate’s areas of specialization, core courses in the curriculum, and supervising undergraduate senior theses. 

To apply, please submit a letter of application that explains the candidate’s research and teaching, including how the applicant approaches diversity, equity, and inclusion in their pedagogy; a curriculum vitae; a sample of written work; a sample course syllabus; and three letters of recommendation.
