The American Sociological Association (ASA) invites the public to a webinar on “The Future of Work” on Thursday, 3 December 2026, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. EST.
Featuring sociologists Adia Harvey Wingfield (Washington University in St. Louis), Anna Branch (Rutgers Global Health Institute), Juliet Schor (Boston College), and Wen Fan (Boston College), the webinar will explore how technological innovation, shifting cultural expectations, and changing economic realities are transforming the nature of work.
Topics will include remote and hybrid work, the gig economy, automation and artificial intelligence in the workplace, and emerging movements such as the four-day workweek. Panelists will discuss the implications of these developments for workers, families, and communities, and consider what the future of work may look like.
The event is open to the public and free to attend. Closed captioning will be available.
