We are accepting proposals for sessions now through June 25 for the RC02 program at the World Congress in Gwangju in July 2027. Proposals can be entered directly into the conference system:

We especially welcome sessions addressing the congress theme:

Global Sociology in Turbulent Times

We also welcome proposals on other topics and especially encourage members in the East Asian region to join us.

As in the past, we also welcome proposals for joint sessions with other RCs, thematic groups, and working groups.

The call for integrative sessions is also now open on the ISA website.

Integrative sessions are semi-plenary sessions jointly organized by at least 3 RC/WG/TG or National Associations. This call follows the same criteria and process as the call for an integrative session for the 2025 Forum. The deadline for proposals is September 28th, 2026. The results of the selection process by the scientific committee will be announced on October 15th, which will allow the RC/WG/TG Program Coordinators to take these sessions into consideration when finalizing the abstract selection process. The call and the submission form are available at the ISA website:

https://www.isa-sociology.org/en/conferences/world-congress/gwangju-2027/call-for-integrative-sessions-27

The program committee is again planning an early career researchers’ workshop tentatively to take place before the World Congress. Details will follow later this year. We also hope to welcome many early-career researchers in our conference program.
