The Freiburg Institute for Advanced Studies (FRIAS) at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg is accepting applications for its 2027/28 fellowship programs. Researchers of any nationality and from any discipline can apply, provided their research can be supported at the University of Freiburg.
Depending on your career stage, there are two options:
➡️ Early Career Fellowships
For researchers with a completed PhD and up to eight years of postdoctoral experience. Fellowships last 4 to 10 months.
➡️ Senior Fellowships
For researchers with a completed PhD and at least eight years of postdoctoral experience. Fellowships last 3 to 8 months.
Both programs offer:
➡️ The opportunity to conduct your own research project at FRIAS
➡️ A research cost contribution and, where applicable, travel costs to and from Freiburg
➡️ Access to the resources, networks, and academic community of the University of Freiburg
➡️ An international and interdisciplinary community with opportunities for exchange and collaboration
