The Chair of International Comparative Political Economy and Economic Sociology (Professor Dr. Christine Trampusch), at the Cologne Center for Comparative Politics, is currently advertising a position of Research Assistant (m/f/d).

The Chair researches the social and political foundations of economies in capitalist democracies. As a bridging professorship to the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies (MPIfG), there is close collaboration with the MPIfG. The position advertised here combines ambitious, independent research and innovative teaching with the leading management of the chair’s administrative processes, thus securing the foundation for excellent science in an international environment.

TASKS:

  • Independent research in the field of International Comparative Political Economy (as part of a PhD or as a post-doc)

  • Teaching obligation of 3 semester hours per week

  • Coordination and implementation of the administrative matters of the chair and the center

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

  • Completed academic master’s degree with above-average success or a successful doctorate in political science, sociology, or a comparable field

  • Strong interest in International Comparative Political Economy

  • Ability to independently structure and manage administrative processes

  • Very good language skills in German (C2) and English (C1), both written and spoken
