The Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies (MPIfG) invites applications for its Visiting Researchers Program for the summer semester 2027.
The program is open to scholars working in economic sociology and comparative and international political economy, including professors and researchers at the postdoctoral or doctoral level, from Germany and abroad. Visiting research stays generally range from two to twelve months and should involve a project related to the MPIfG's research program on the social and political foundations of modern economies.
Successful applicants are selected on the basis of scholarly excellence and a research proposal of up to three pages. Visiting researchers are assigned to an MPIfG director or research group leader and are expected to identify a preferred host in their application.
Applicants are expected to provide their own funding and a funding plan for their stay. If successful, they will receive a letter of invitation that can be used to approach funding institutions.
